In order for your site to have a distinct identity we must first: choose and register a domain name, design your logo, pick a color scheme, select fonts and create the overall feel and function of your site.
The most successful sites are simple, self explanatory and easy to navigate. It’s best to maintain a consistent message and appearance throughout your site. It’s also good to be modern and current, but not so much that your site loses it’s feel and function or dies off when the latest technology goes out of style. For example “flash” is somewhat new and can be quite impressive, but studies show the vast majority of web surfers do not like flash and I predict this fad will fade soon.
No matter what the purpose of your site is, visitors will all be searching for the answers to the same old questions: who, what, where, when and how. Don’t be afraid to use bold colors and original designs, but keep in mind we are trying to please the masses and make it easy for everyone to use and enjoy.
Once we have established the general feel and function of your site the creative process can begin. At this point you can begin sending us your media (photos, videos, type, slogan, etc) for each page, starting with your Home (aka: index or landing) page.
We suggest you visit other related, or competitor’s websites and inform us of the ones you find to be the most “user friendly” and appealing. We’ll apply similar elements and functions to your website in a manner that compliments and enhances your unique style and function.
We will create your pages and organize your site content into a logical hierarchy to create a site structure tree. We then incorporate your choice of navigation tools needed to make it easy for visitors to find what they’re looking for. Your input is greatly needed at this stage, as changing site structures, designs and navigation tools later on can be quite time consuming and costly.
Submit media by email or on CD. We accept most all common file types and will provide you with submission tips and details, to ensure optimum online quality. Choosing how to display or distribute your media is often as important as the quality of the media itself. We offer many ways of presenting your media like, slide shows, inline or embedded YouTube videos, scrolling text, audio backgrounds, point to enlarge photos and so on.
You must be the sole proprietor of everything you submit. Any copyrighted material requires written consent from all parties owning legal rights. We suggest creating your own or having AWD do it for you. You can also find allot of useful copyright free material in the Public Domain. Just search the phrase “public domain” and help yourself.
Once a page is completed we will send you either a sample page via email or a link to view it online. If all is well, simply reply with your approval. If any changes are needed, you may call or email us any instructions or media for revisions. It’s that easy!
When all your media is in place and we have spell checked, proof read and approved the content, it’s time to publish your website. Of course AWD will handle this part . We will run a site check for any potential problems and make sure all the features are working properly and then launch (upload) it to the web. Depending on size, we can usually have your site up and running within 24 hours of completion. Once it’s online we’ll email you a link and you can be the first to visit your brand new website!
